Why this blog?

Written by

Actually the question should be, “Why another blog—in an already prodigious blogosphere—that is eLearning centric and wants to be a knowledge resource and…” well I could go on, but I am sure that you, the discerning reader, are already aware of why corporates blog.

But honestly, why are we at Upside Learning choosing to stick our necks out by putting our ideas and thoughts out there, dispensing advice, and soliciting opinions. The answer is simple—because we believe that what we have to say is worth saying. So we’ve decided to add our invaluable (the jury is still out on that) two cents to the ever increasing fount of knowledge and resources called ‘The Web’. And what better way to connect to people and share and grow with them than a blog.

So, we figure that its time we started sharing our experiences and ‘”great ideas” to help others as we have been helped by them. And believe you me; we have a lot to share with you. So, our eleven enthusiastic and prolific Upside Bloggers—from the Instructional design, Graphics, Flash Programming, Learning Technologies and Sales domains—are putting their money where their mouth is; with a line-up of articles that is sure to interest you. Here’s a glimpse of what we are writing about: Which Rapid Authoring Tools, The Relevance of Social Media in eLearning, Using Flash or Silverlight, Why Outsource, Choosing a Learning Solutions Vendor, User-generated content and many more. We do plan to post thought-provoking and informative articles regularly (at least two posts a week to start with) and a fortnightly comic strip (some really funny and funnily real eLearning stuff).

After all’s said and done though, the bottom line remains that no conversation (and that is what a blog really is) will be complete or fruitful without the voice of another responding to a thought expressed. And that’s what we intend this to be; an open and mutually beneficial dialogue. I am sure there will be times when opinions will differ, but then diversity in thought is the cornerstone of a richer, vibrant and pulsating forum for intellectual discourse. You could bookmark this blog, subscribe to it via RSS or email, or tag it.

So with the promise of making this a truly enriching partnership; we welcome you to the Upside Learning Blog.
