Most of these custom content solutions can be created as media-light or media-rich solutions. Rapid solutions are generally media-light solutions. Media-light solutions typically rely on text to communicate the learning content, supported by stock photography, simple static vector graphics, and very few animations. Basic functionality is included, and interactivities are mainly of the ‘click and reveal’ type. Media-rich solutions have a higher level of visual sophistication extending to rich vector graphics of objects and environments, realistic character animations, and schematics and process animations. Audio or text could function as the primary means of communication. More advanced features and functionality are included, with a greater variety of learning interactions to present content, elicit practice, and assess performance.
