“Learning organisations are possible because, deep down, we are all learners... intrinsically inquisitive, masterful learners who learn to ... all on their own.”
- Peter Senge, The Fifth Discipline
Upside Learning's design approach to learning is focused around this simple understanding - that we are all learners. Learning is about a change in abilities, attitudes, beliefs, capabilities, knowledge, mental models, patterns of interaction, or skills. If a business organization is to retain its competitive edge over time, it needs to innovate, constantly learning and unlearning (even increasingly so with knowledge-driven organizations). This is only possible if every individual is empowered to learn and perform.
If the organization strives to provide the right environment, and access to the right content and tools, individual employees can learn on their own. eLearning fits in perfectly with this way of learning outside the classroom - in disjoint times and spaces.
While being learner centric, we never ignore organizational imperatives; our eLearning solutions are designed to align with organizational goals, the need for efficacy and effectiveness, and sustainability in the short and long-term. Our design philosophy, methodology, and technology implementations are driven to achieve this delicate balance between learner and organizational need.
