Presenting a New Podcast Series – Gamification of Workplace Learning
We are delighted to announce our podcast series on Gamification of Workplace Learning!
Organisations have come a long way in what they consider legitimate approaches to workplace learning. Gone are the days of traditional classroom trainings and not just due to the COVID pandemic (though it has indeed effected speedier shift to digital for some). Organizations accept (and even expect) their people to use mobile devices for learning and social & collaborative learning too are now more commonplace. Even Virtual Reality is beginning to be seen as a practical tool for certain types of trainings.
Despite such welcome shifts in our approach to learning in the workplace, the idea of “gamification” still leads to some raised eyebrows. Organisations tend to shy away from bringing gamification to learning due to a lack of clarity about what Gamification is, how to implement it and what benefits the organisation and the learners actually gain from it. Gamification is often viewed as unproductive, child-like, and even detrimental to the seriously performance oriented set ups, when in reality it potentially offers organisations with unique opportunities to engage and motivate learners towards desired actions and behaviour change.
With this series, we aim to bust the myths and misconceptions surrounding gamification and GoBeyond our understanding of gamification as an addition of points, badges & leaderboards to existing content. We also discuss examples and challenges with our experts who have been there and done that.
