9 Ways People Are Using Mobile Learning – Presentation

What began as an attempt to improve the telegraph, more than a hundred years ago, has evolved into the single most important piece of consumer electronics in the world, acting not only as a communications device but now as a learning tool too. It’s the mobile phone.

While some of the first smartphones had touch screens, games and even mail, it was only since 2007 that smartphones really seized the public imagination; the same year when the ‘i’ revolution began with the launch of the iPhone. Soon after and alongside its launch, was the introduction of smartphones from HTC, Google, Samsung, Nokia, Motorola and the like. By 2009, six in ten people (more than 4 billion individuals) around the world were carrying a powerful computing device in their pockets and purses (source – UN report). This surge in the adoption of smartphones fueled by the advent of powerful telecommunication networks and the many affordances of mobile devices, made mobile the perfect candidate for delivering learning. And thus began the saga of Mobile Learning.

Today almost all organizations across the world are using or at least experimenting with mobile learning in a small but significant way. We have earlier written about the Top 5 Ways Companies Are Using Mobile Learning Technology and Top 10 Ways People Are Using Mobile Learning. We have now gone a step ahead and compiled the top 9 ways people are using mLearning, each supported with a real-life example. Check out the presentation below.
