When writing the whitepaper about Casual games, I did a fair bit of research and looked at several hundred web links. While doing so, I documented a few of the better ones. I’d been mulling posting these to the blog. So here they are – a Top 100 Learning Game Resource list. If you are already developing learning games, these links will broaden your horizons, as they did mine. If you are contemplating beginning – it might help to look at links that interest you to get some grounding ideas.
This list isn’t categorized in any way, and it’ll stay that way until I figure out a good way to tag and qualify them in some way. Most often such a list brings up debate about the quality of content linked to. In putting this list together, I worked with Tony Karrer and his eLearning Learning site extensively to match links that are popular based on social signals, specifically in the Games and Simulation categories.

Just went through some of the links that I didn’t know, and read the white paper. Quite good.
We did quite a lot of stuff – some of it you can see at http://www.seriousgames.dk. We have done a thing similar to Sun in 2D for one of the biggest financial corporations in Denmark (Nykredit) that was a run-a-way hit. It was onboard training so people more quickly got into the organisation and understood how it worked.
Also, take a look at my blog where a lot of the research I have done can be found – http://www.egenfeldt.eu/blog

it is a nice site, especially for starters and a loving site for real gamers

An excellent list. Worth adding to it is http://www.what2learn.com – free access to thousands of interactive learning games for use across the curriculum. Free teacher accounts make it really easy for teachers to track student progress through the existing games or to create their own activities, games and tests. A great way to reduce marking and improve student motivation and performance.

Learnalot (www.learnalot.com) provides game-based learning resources for maths for students aged 11-16.
Your resources are excellent – the best skills-based learning resources for maths I’ve seen.

The look of the site has immediately caught the interest of pupils who I know love to spend time on X-Box/PlayStation at home. Harnessing an existing interest for a learning purpose is probably the Mecca of education. I would love to know if you might have plans for a KS2 version at some stage?

Great website for revision especially for me and I’m in year 11. Amazing website!

I remember playing cheesy elearning games whereby I’ve to clear stages by using my knowledge in Science. But what many games are lacking is that the relevance is too subtle. The storyline doesn’t link, my previous knowledge doesn’t affect how the next level progresses. But it is nice to see with gamification and how people really sit down to discuss about mechanics in place, elearning softwares are gearing towards giving players/users an experience instead of just info-feed .
